A small moment from early in the story:
After many years, she was back in this land. The colors were so soft — as were the sounds, the scents, the wind, and something within her soul she couldn’t quite name, but recognized as belonging here. It was as if it had been waiting for her all this time. And now it was here again.
She closed her eyes. The wind, the scents, the sounds remained — and the memories rose.
